Carbapenem derivatives having potent antimicrobial activities on MRSA, PRSP, influenza viruses and .beta.-lactamase-producing bacteria and a high stability to DHP-1. Namely, compounds represented by the general formula (I) or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, wherein R1 represents H or methyl; R2 and R3 represent each H, halogeno, lower alkyl, etc.; R4 represents optionally substituted lower alkylthio, etc.; and R5 represents optionally substituted lower alkyl, etc.

L'invention se rapporte à des dérivés de carbapenem dotés de puissantes activités antimicrobiennes sur les bactéries antibio-résistantes, le PRSP, les virus de la grippe les bactéries productrices de .beta.-lactamase, ainsi que d'une grande stabilité au DHP-1.
