This invention relates to new forms of solids of the mesoprogestin 11.beta.-[4E--(hydroxyiminomethyl)phenyl]-17.alpha.-methoxymethyl-17.beta.- methoxy-estra-4,9-dien-3-one (oxime J 867), especially a highly pure and stable amorphous or highly crystalline form (ansolvate/ anhydrate) of the compound J 867, process for their production as well as their use in pharmaceutical compositions. The new forms of solids are distinguished in particular by a high stability. The forms of solids of the oxime J 867 can be used in particular in birth control and hormone replacement therapy.

L'invention concerne de nouvelles formes solides de mésoprogestine 11 beta -[4E-(hydroxyimiométhyl)phényle]-17 alpha -méthoxyméthyl-17 beta -méthoxy-estra-4,9-diène-3-one (oxime J 867), notamment une forme très pure et amorphe stable et très cristalline (ansolvate/anhydrate) du composé J 867. L'invention concerne des procédés permettant de les produire et leur utilisation dans des compositions pharmaceutiques. Les nouvelles formes solides se caractérisent notamment par une grande stabilité. Ces formes solides de l'oxime J 867 s'utilisent notamment dans la contraception et en hormonothérapie substitutive.
