The invention relates to a novel solid gas separation system suitable for all types of FCC unit regenerators. The inventive system consists of a device for the separation of solid particles contained in a gas stream originating from the regeneration zone of a fluid catalytic cracking unit (FCC) defined by an inner cylindrical casing (3) centred around the vertical axis of the regeneration zone and an outer casing (1) having an essentially horizontal wall (15) followed by a curvilinear wall (16) and an essentially vertical wall (17), said group of walls (15, 16, 17) covering the inner casing (3) and forming a set of separation chambers (2) distributed into enclosures located around the inner casing (3) containing the solid gas suspension to be separated. Said novel separation system enables very effective separation while minimising head loss and requiring only a single downstream cyclone stage.

La présente invention décrit un nouveau système de séparation gaz solide applicable à tous les types de régénérateurs d'unités de FCC. Elle consiste en un dispositif de séparation de particules solide contenues dans un flux gazeux provenant de la zone de régénération d'une unité de craquage catalytique en lit fluidisé ( FCC) délimité par une enveloppe interne (3) de forme cylindrique centrée selon l'axe vertical de la zone de régénération, et une enveloppe externe (1) présentant une paroi sensiblement horizontale (15), suivie d'une paroi curviligne (16), et d'une paroi sensiblement verticale (17), l'ensemble desdites parois (15,16,17) recouvrant l'enveloppe interne (3) et formant un ensemble de chambres de séparation (2) réparties en chapelles autour de l'enveloppe interne (3) dans lequel circule la suspension gaz solide à séparer. Ce nouveau système de séparation permet d'obtenir à la fois une très bonne efficacité de séparation tout en minimisant la perte de charge et en ne nécessitant qu'un seul étage de cyclones en aval.
