L'invention concerne l'utilisation de la 1-¬4-(5-cyanoindol-3-yl)butyl|-4-(2-carbamoyl- benzofuran-5-yl)-pipérazine ou d'un sel physiologiquement acceptable de ladite molécule dans le traitement de divers sous-types de troubles anxieux, à savoir un trouble panique avec ou sans agoraphobie, l'agoraphobie, un trouble obsessionnel-compulsif, la phobie sociale, un état de stress post-traumatique, un état de stress aigu ou une anxiété généralisée; dans le traitement de la démence; dans le traitement d'un trouble lié à une substance; dans le traitement d'une dysfonction sexuelle; dans le traitement d'un trouble des conduites alimentaires, de l'anorexie ou de l'obésité; ou dans le traitement de la fibromyalgie.
