A novelty noise-maker includes a handle which can be gripped adjacent one end, and which has a transverse bore adjacent the second end. A shaft is slidably mounted in the transverse bore and supports a head member at one end and a stop member at the other end, both members being too large to pass through the bore. When the noise-maker is shaken vigorously, the shaft reciprocates quickly within the bore, and the members at other end come into contaet with the handle portion, thus generating a "clacking" noise.
