Processes for preparing a composition comprising (i) an acidic metal oxide containing substantially no zeolite, (ii) an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, and mixtures thereof, and (iii) an oxygen storage component are disclosed. Preferably, the process comprise forming a single slurry of components (i) - (iii), spray drying and calcining to obtain metal oxide particles comprising components (i)- (iii). Preferably, the slurry comprise a base peptized acidic metal oxide containing slurry wherein the component (ii) is provided in the slurry as a metal of the base. Compositions prepared are impregnated with a noble metal to provide compositions useful to reduce gas phase reduced nitrogen species and NOX in an effluent off gas of a fluid catalytic cracking regenerator.

L'invention concerne des procédés de préparation d'une composition renfermant (i) un oxyde métallique acide comprenant sensiblement aucun zéolite, (ii) un métal alcalin, un métal alcalino-terreux et des mélanges de ceux-ci et (iii) un composant de stockage d'oxygène. Le procédé consiste, de préférence, à former une bouillie unique des composants (i) - (iii), à la sécher par pulvérisation et à la calciner, de manière à obtenir des particules d'oxyde métallique renfermant les composants (i)- (iii). La bouille comprend, de préférence, un oxyde métallique acide peptisé de base, le composant (ii) jouant le rôle d'un métal de la base dans la bouillie. Des compositions préparées sont imprégnées au moyen d'un métal noble, de manière à obtenir des compositions utiles pour la réduction des espèces azotées réduites en phase gazeuse et du NO<SB>X</SB> dans un effluent gazeux d'un régénérateur de craquage catalytique fluide.
