A nozzle apparatus and method for dispensing powdered material from a container such as a cardboard shipping box. The apparatus has a shaft with a tip in the shape of a slant-cut cylinder which is manually inserted into the container through the container wall and an inner plastic lining of the container. A threaded portion on the shaft in the form of an increasing radial helix thread causes the apparatus to tighten against the wall of the container when the user manually rotates a gripping portion of the apparatus. A passageway extends from the tip to a fitting outside the container which can be connected to a vacuum source such as a powder pump to draw in the powder coating material. The fluidized powder is then carried to a spray gun for powder coating an object. A second passageway may be carried within the shaft and extend from an opening within the container to a fitting outside the container to carry a pressurized gas into the container. The container may be placed on a vibrating tilted platform to agitate the powder coating material.
La présente invention a pour objet un dispositif comportant une lance de distribution ainsi qu'un procédé pour la pulvérisation de matières pulvérulentes enfermées dans un contenant tel une boîte d'expédition en carton. Le dispositif en question comporte un arbre dont l'extrémité a la forme d'un cylindre à troncature oblique destiné à être inséré à travers la paroi et la doublure intérieure plastique du contenant. Une section de l'arbre est dotée d'un filetage hélicoïdal progressif destiné à assurer un contact étroit entre le dispositif et la paroi du contenant par simple rotation manuelle exercée à partir d'un point de prise à l'intention de l'utilisateur. Un passage allant de l'extrémité du dispositif jusqu'à un raccord saillant de la paroi du contenant sert au raccordement du dispositif à une source d'aspiration telle une pompe à matières pulvérulentes aux fins d'extraction de la poudre de revêtement. La poudre fluidisée est alors acheminée vers un pistolet pulvérisateur servant au poudrage d'articles. Un deuxième passage reliant une ouverture située à l'intérieur du contenant à un raccord situé à l'extérieur du contenant peut être utilisé pour introduire un gaz sous pression à l'intérieur du contenant. Le contenant peut être placé sur une plate-forme vibrante inclinée aux fins d'agitation de la poudre de revêtement.
