ABSTRACT A nozzle is disclosed for an injection moulding machine, an extruder orifice or a hot-duct tool. The nozzle has a housing and a single central heating element with a point tip connected to the housing. The tip of the heating element is tapered to the front end and is shaped to provide a large surface area. Between the taper and the main shank, the heating element has an enlarged cross section and a large surface area. The large surface area portion of the tip is located in the vicinity of the outlet orifice. This improves the temperature and heat transfer profiles along the heating element particularly in the area of the outlet.
