Abstract of the Disclosure A nuclear power plant has a reactor core and a reactor containment with a coolable collector vessel for molten core masses. The vessel is formed by an exterior wall and is located below the reactor core. Heat tubes are provided in the wall so that one end of each tube is arranged in the vicinity of the inner side of the wall. The other end of each tube passes to the interior of a cooling basin located outside the reactor containment and open to the atmosphere.
