The present invention relates to nucleic acids corresponding to the various exons and introns of the ABC1 gene, which is a causal gene for pathologies linked to a cholesterol metabolism dysfunction inducing diseases such as atherosclerosis, more particularly disruption in the reverse transport of cholesterol, and more particularly familial HDL deficiencies (FHD), such as Tangier disease. The present invention also relates to ABC1 cDNAs encoding the novel full length ABC1 protein. The invention also relates to means for the detection of polymorphisms in general, and of mutations in particular, in the ABC1 gene or in the corresponding protein produced by the allelic form of the ABC1 gene.
La présente invention concerne des acides nucléiques correspondant aux différents exons et introns du gène ABC1 qui est un gène de causalité pour des pathologies liées à des troubles provoquant un dysfonctionnement du métabolisme du cholestérol, tels que l'athérosclérose, plus précisément la rupture dans le transport inverse du cholestérol, et plus précisément encore les carences familiales en HDL telles que la maladie de Tangier. La présente invention concerne également les ADNc du gène ABC1 codant la nouvelle protéine ABC1 pleine longueur. L'invention concerne également les moyens de détection de polymorphismes en général et les mutations, en particulier dans le gène ABC1 ou dans la protéine correspondante produite par la forme allélique du gène ABC1.
