The present invention relates to novel lung cancer related polynucleotides and the polypeptides encoded by these polynucleotides herein collectively known as "lung cancer antigens", and the use of such lung cancer antigens for detecting disorders of the lung, particularly the presence of lung cancer and lung cancer metastases. More specifically, isolated lung cancer associated nucleic acid molecules are provided encoding novel lung cancer associated polypeptides. Novel lung cancer polypeptides and antibodies that bind to these polypeptides are provided. Also provided are vectors, host cells, and recombinant and synthetic methods for producing human lung cancer associated polynucleotides and/or polypeptides. The invention further relates to diagnostic and therapeutic methods useful for diagnosing, treating, preventing and/or prognosing disorders related to the lung, including lung cancer, and therapeutic methods for treating such disorders. The invention further relates to screening methods for identifying agonists and antagonists of polynucleotides and polypeptides of the invention. The present invention further relates to methods and/or compositions for inhibiting the production and function of the polypeptides of the present invention.

L'invention concerne de nouveaux polynucléotides associés au cancer du poumon et les polypeptides codés par ces polynucléotides désignés ici sous le nom collectif de <= antigènes du cancer du poumon >=, ainsi que l'utilisation de ces antigènes du cancer du poumon pour détecter des troubles du poumon, notamment la présence du cancer du poumon et de métastases du cancer du poumon. D'une manière plus spécifique, l'invention concerne des molécules isolées d'acide nucléique associées au cancer du poumon codant pour de nouveaux polypeptides associés au cancer du poumon ; de nouveaux polypeptides et anticorps associés au cancer du poumon qui se lient à ces polypeptides ; des vecteurs, des cellules hôtes et des méthodes de recombinaison et de synthèse permettant de produire ces polynucléotides et/ou ces polypeptides associés au cancer du poumon humain ; des méthodes diagnostiques et thérapeutiques qui conviennent pour le diagnostic, le traitement, la prévention et/ou le pronostic de troubles associés aux poumons, notamment le cancer du poumon, ainsi que des méthodes thérapeutiques permettant de traiter ces troubles ; des méthodes de criblage permettant d'identifier des agonistes et des antagonistes des polynucléotides et des polypeptides selon l'invention ; des méthodes et/ou des compositions permettant d'inhiber la production et la fonction des polypeptides selon l'invention.
