The present invention relates to novel colorectal cancer related polynucleotides and the polypeptides encoded by these polynucleotides herein collectively known as "colorectal cancer antigens", and the use of such colorectal cancer antigens for detecting disorders of the colon and/or rectum particularly the presence of colorectal cancer and colorectal cancer metastases. More specifically, isolated colorectal cancer associated nucleic acid molecules are provided encoding novel colorectal cancer associated polypeptides. Novel colorectal cancer polypeptides and antibodies that bind to these polypeptides are provided. Also provided are vectors, host cells, and recombinant and synthetic methods for producing human colorectal cancer associated polynucleotides and/or polypeptides. The invention further relates to diagnostic and therapeutic methods useful for diagnosing, treating, preventing and/or prognosing disorders related to the colon and/or rectum including colorectal cancer, and therapeutic methods for treating such disorders. The invention further relates to screening methods for identifying agonists and antagonists of polynucleotides and polypeptides of the invention. The present invention further relates to methods and/or compositions for inhibiting the production and function of the polypeptides of the present invention.
L'invention concerne des nouveaux polynucléotides associés au cancer colorectal, et les polypeptides codés par ces polynucléotides, appelés <= antigènes du cancer colorectal >=, ainsi que l'utilisation de ces derniers dans la détection de troubles du colone et/ou du rectum, en particulier la présence du cancer colorectal et de métastases de ce dernier. Plus spécialement, l'invention concerne des molécules d'acides nucléiques isolées associées au cancer colorectal codant pour des nouveaux polypeptides associés au cancer colorectal. L'invention concerne en outre de nouveaux polypeptides et anticorps du cancer colorectal, qui se lient à ces polypeptides, ainsi que des vecteurs, des cellules hôtes, des procédés synthétiques et de recombinaison destinés à produire des polynucléotides et/ou des polypeptides humain associés au cancer colorectal. L'invention concerne par ailleurs des méthodes thérapeutiques et diagnostiques utiles pour diagnostiquer, traiter, prévenir et/ou pronostiquer des troubles associés au colon et/ou au rectum, dont le cancer colorectal. L'invention concerne encore des procédés de criblage visant à identifier des agonistes et des antagonistes des polynucléotides et des polypeptides de l'invention. La présente invention concerne enfin des procédés et/ou des compositions permettant d'inhiber ou d'améliorer la production et la fonction des polypeptides précités.
