A method for modifying the properties of a nylon block copolymer comprising: supplying a nylon block copolymer wherein the nylon block copolymer has a flexural modulus, a tensile modulus, and an unnotched Izod impact strength. Incorporated into the nylon block copolymer is a nanoclay filler wherein the nanoclay filler is present at a level of between about 1.0 - 20.0 wt. %. The addition of the nanoclay filler serves to increase the values of the nylon block~s copolymer flexural modulus, tensile modulus, while substantially maintaining the value of the unnotched Izod impact strength and/or increasing the value of said unnotched Izod impact strength, upon addition of the nanoclay filler. The composition can be used to make articles as described in Figure 1.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de modifier les propriétés d'un copolymère séquencé de nylon. Ce procédé comprend les étapes consistant : à fournir un copolymère séquencé de nylon présentant un module d'élasticité en flexion, un module d'élasticité en traction ainsi qu'une résistance au choc Izod sur barreau non entaillé ; à incorporer une matière de charge de type nanoargile à ce copolymère séquencé de nylon, le pourcentage en poids de cette matière de charge étant approximativement compris entre 1,0 et 20,0 % ; à augmenter la valeur du module d'élasticité en flexion et la valeur du module d'élasticité en traction du copolymère séquencé de nylon, et conserver sensiblement la valeur de résistance au choc Izod sur barreau non entaillé et/ou augmenter la valeur de résistance au choc Izod sur barreau non entaillé, par ajout de la matière de charge de type nanoargile.
