Abstract O-substituted oximinocephalosporins represented by the formula Image wherein R in a 5 membered or 6-membered heterocycle, preferably amino-substituted, e.g., 2-aminothiazol-4-yl, R1 is an arylalkyl, aryloxyalkyl, or arylthioalkyl group, especially substituted benzyl; R2 is a 1,2,4-triazin 3- yl thio group; and M is a salt or a biologically labile ester group; are potent antibacterial agents. Also pro- vided are antibiotic formulations of said compounds and a method for treating infectious diseases in man or other animals comprising the administration of said compounds.
