ABSTRACT In an oar for propelling surfboard, It is known to have a buoyancy compartment, one end of the compartment is connected to a shaft and the other end to a tubular shaped section. This newly invented oar with buoyancy can be used by surfer in standing position to keep balance and move forward. The propulsion is produced by the horizontal resultant force of buoyancy force from the oar and pushing force exerted by the surfer, and by the resistance of water on the moving oar.
