A dispenser for dispensing prescrip-tion pharmaceuticals contained therein includes: a bin, the bin including an access opening; a door adjacent to the opening and movable between open and closed positions to allow access for filling the bin through the opening, wherein one of the bin and the door includes a first identifier corresponding to the identity of units of a single prescription pharmaceutical contained in the bin; a locking assembly configured and positioned to engage the door in the closed position and prevent the door from moving to the open position; an identi-fier reading device operably associated with the lock-ing assembly to scan the first identifier and a second identifier on a bulk container, the second identifier cor-responding to the identity of the contents of the bulk container; and a controller having a data storage unit and configured to receive and compare signals from the identifier reading device corresponding to the first and second identifiers. The controller is operably as-sociated with the locking assembly such that the lock-ing assembly disengages from the door responsive to a positive comparison by the controller, thereby en-abling the door to be moved to the open position.
L'invention concerne un distributeur pour distribuer des produits pharmaceutiques sur ordonnance contenus dans celui-ci, lequel distributeur comprend: un réceptacle, le réceptacle comprenant une ouverture d'accès ; une porte adjacente à l'ouverture et mobile entre des positions ouverte et fermée pour permettre un accès pour le remplissage du réceptacle à travers l'ouverture, l'un ou l'autre du réceptacle et de la porte comprenant un premier identifiant correspondant à l'identité d'unités d'un produit pharmaceutique sur ordonnance unique contenu dans le réceptacle ; un ensemble de verrouillage configuré et placé pour engager la porte dans la position fermée et empêcher la porte de se déplacer vers la position ouverte ; un dispositif de lecture d'identifiant associé de façon opérationnelle à l'ensemble de verrouillage pour balayer le premier identifiant et un second identifiant sur un conteneur en vrac, le second identifiant correspondant à l'identité des contenus du conteneur en vrac ; et un contrôleur ayant une unité de stockage de données et configuré pour recevoir et comparer des signaux provenant du dispositif de lecture d'identifiant correspondant aux premier et second identifiants. Le contrôleur est associé de façon fonctionnelle à l'ensemble de verrouillage, de telle sorte que l'ensemble de verrouillage se désengage de la porte en réponse à une comparaison positive par le contrôleur, permettant ainsi à la porte d'être déplacée vers la position ouverte.
