The invention relates to a device for figuring objects by means of material erosion of the surface thereof, comprising a pulsed laser beam (2) and a deflection device (4) through which the laser beam (2) is directed at the object surface and via which the object surface is guided. Preferably, the invention is suitable for figuring natural optical lenses made from a biological sub-stance or artificial optical lenses. The inventive device is provided with an optical device (14) to modify the distribution of the radiation intensity inside the laser beam cross section. The radiation intensity, once the laser beam (2) has passed through the optical device (14), has a bell-shaped or Gaussian-like distribution in at least one cross sectional direction through said laser beam (2).

L'invention concerne un dispositif permettant de façonner des objets en enlevant de la matière de leur surface au moyen d'un faisceau laser pulsé (2) et d'un dispositif de déflexion (4) par lequel le faisceau laser (2) est dirigé sur la surface d'un objet et guidé sur celle-ci. Le dispositif selon l'invention est, de préférence, destiné au façonnage de lentilles optiques naturelles constituées de substances biologiques ou de lentilles optiques artificielles. Un dispositif de ce type comporte un dispositif optique (14) servant à modifier la répartition de l'intensité de rayonnement à l'intérieur de la section transversale du faisceau laser, cette intensité de rayonnement présentant, après passage du faisceau laser (2) à travers le dispositif optique (14), dans au moins un sens transversal du faisceau laser (2), une répartition ayant une forme de cloche ou Gaussienne, ou bien ayant une forme semblable.
