ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Piping or containers for conveying or storing gaseous or liquid medium provided with an outer hydraulically bound weighting layer obtained from a slag aggregate with a hydraulic binding, particularly an aggregate from a melting metal furnace. The layer contains aggregate slag particles having a high specific gravity and which are obtained from a metal melting furnace. The aggregate slag particles provide hydraulic binding properties. The weighting layer provides substantial weight per volume enabling a thinner layer to be used.
