This invention is a plastic obtu- rator suitable for use in a tracheostomy tube (14) comprising a handle (2) at its proximal end, a bullet shaped tip (3) at its distal end, and an outer cannula sup- porting body (1) between the handle and the tip, which outer cannula sup- porting body (1) contains sectionalized flex points and laterally extending sup- porting surfaces along its length. Also described is a tracheostomy tube (14), preferably one that is flexible contain- ing the plastic obturator of the inven- tion.

L'invention se rapporte à un obturateur en matière plastique apte à être utilisé dans une canule de trachéotomie (14), et comprenant une poignée, au niveau de son extrémité proximale, une tête en forme de balle (3), au niveau de son extrémité distale, ainsi qu'un corps (1) de support de canule externe, ménagé entre la poignée et la tête, lequel contient des zones de pliure sectionnées ainsi que des surfaces de support à orientation latérale sur sa longueur.
