3107 CANADA OCTANE IMPROVEMENT IN FCC ABSTRACT Modified ZSM-5 catalyst is prepared by controlled steaming. The modified catalyst exhibits significant olefin isomerization activity and reduced paraffin cracking activity. When added to the conventional catalyst in a fluidized catalytic cracking unit, improved gasoline octane is obtained with little or no yield loss.
