A coating for masking or reducing the detectable presence of certain characteristic odor or odors, taste or tastes of pharmaceutical preparations, particularly valerian extracts, is described. The coating comprises from at least one to three coating compartments, in any combination or as a single- layer amalgam. The first coating compartment (4) preferably comprises a hydroxyalkyl cellulose and an anti-tackiness agent. The second coating compartment (6) preferably comprises a sugar and at least one anti-tackiness agent. The third coating compartment (8) preferably comprises a methacrylate copolymer, a hydroxyalkyl cellulose and an anti-tackiness agent. An option fourth coating compartment (10) may be applied as a cosmetic color coat, need not function as an odor-masking coat, and may be combined with one or more of the other three coating compartments.
L'invention concerne un enrobage servant à masquer ou à réduire la présence détectable d'une ou de plusieurs caractéristiques d'odeur ou de goût de préparations pharmaceutiques, en particulier d'extraits de valériane. L'enrobage comporte de une à trois enveloppes d'enrobage, combinées ou formant un amalgame à couche unique. La première enveloppe (4) d'enrobage comporte de préférence une cellulose hydroxyalkylée et un agent anticollant. La deuxième enveloppe (6) d'enrobage comporte de préférence un sucre et au moins un agent anticollant. La troisième enveloppe (8) d'enrobage comporte de préférence un copolymère de méthacrylate, une cellulose hydroxyalkylée et un agent anticollant. Une quatrième enveloppe (10) d'enrobage facultative, qui ne sert pas nécessairement d'enrobage de masquage d'odeurs, peut être appliquée comme enrobage coloré cosmétique et combinée à une ou plusieurs des trois autres enveloppes d'enrobage.
