Abstract The invention is concerned with novel odorant and/ or flavouring substances, namely compounds of the formula Image wherein one of the symbols R1, R2 and R3 stands for methyl or ethyl and the others stand for hydrogen and R4 signifies hydrogen or methyl, with the proviso that R4 represents hydrogen when R1 and R2 both represent hydrogen and R3 represents methyl. The invention is also concerned with a process for the manufacture of the novel alcohols of formula I. The invention is also concerned with the use of the compounds of formula I as odorant and/or flavouring substances and odorant and/or flavouring substance compositions which contain compounds of formula I.
