The present invention provides a composition comprising an acceptable diluent or carrier and high surface area zinc oxide, having a surface area between 30 m2/g and 100 m2/g and a particle size between 0.1 and 200 µm, said high surface area zinc oxide being present in an amount sufficient to absorb odour. The compositions may be for cosmetic or oral use and may be used to treat bad breath and body odour in humans.

La présente invention concerne une composition comprenant un diluant ou un véhicule acceptable et de l'oxyde de zinc à superficie utile importante, ayant une surface utile comprise entre 30 m?2¿/g et 100 m?2¿/g et une granulométrie e comprise entre 0,1 et 200 µm en diamètre, ledit oxyde de zinc à superficie utile importante étant présent en une quantité suffisante pour absorber les odeurs. Les compositions de l'invention peuvent être destinées à un usage cosmétique ou oral et peuvent être utilisées pour traiter la mauvaise haleine et les odeurs corporelles chez l'homme.
