ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A desk stapler, comprises a magazine formed by a U- shaped body provided, in the inside thereof, with a coaxially extending U-shaped guide member provided with spring acting on the inner surface of the guide member, thereby biasing said guide member forwardly in said body. The front surface of guide member forms the rear wall of the drive channel and can move rearwards against the bias of spring to prevent a staple jamming in the channel. Jamming in the magazines prevented by a counter member which is pressed against the staples in the magainze during each staple driving operation.
