Abstract of the Disclosure An offset compensating circuit for cancelling low frequency components generated by drift in an A/D converter upon digestization is disclosed. The circuit includes a subtractor, a sign decision circuit, a counter and an offset setting circuit. The incoming signal is fed to the subtractor where it is subjected to subtraction by a signal from the offset setting circuit. The sign decision circuit receives the output from the subtractor and causes the counter to count up or down depending on the sign of the signal detected. After a predetermined limit is reached an overflow signal is sent to the offset setting circuit and the counter returns to zero. If the overflow is positive, a positive signal is sent from the offset setting circuit to the subtractor and if the overflow is negative, a negative signal is sent.
