A screw rotor device has a housing (12) with an inlet port (18) and an outlet port (20), a male rotor (14), and a female rotor (16). The male rotor (14) has a pair of helical threads with a phase-offset aspect, and the female rotor (16) has a corresponding pair of helical grooves. The female rotor (16) counter-rotates with respect to the male rotor (14) and each of the helical grooves (38, 40) respectively intermeshed in phase with each of the helical threads (34, 36). The phase-offset aspect of the helical threads is formed by a pair of teeth bounding a toothless sector. The arc angle (.szlig.) of the toothless sector (46) is a least twice the arc angle (a) that subtends either one of the teeth. L'invention concerne un dispositif de rotor en forme de vis comprenant un logement (12) présentant un orifice d'entrée (18), un orifice de sortie (20), un rotor mâle (14), et un rotor femelle (16). Ledit rotor mâle (14) présente une paire de filetages hélicoïdaux à orientation décalée de phase, et ledit rotor femelle (16) présente une paire de rainures hélicoïdales correspondantes. Ledit rotor femelle (16) effectue une contre-rotation par rapport audit rotor mâle (14) et chacune des rainures hélicoïdales (38, 40) s'engrènent respectivement en phase avec chacun des filetages hélicoïdaux (34, 36). L'orientation décalée de phase des filetages hélicoïdaux est formée par une paire de dents qui délimite un secteur sans dent. L'angle de l'arc (.beta.) du secteur sans dent (46) représente deux fois l'angle de l'arc (.alpha.) qui sous-tend l'une des dents. Les rainures hélicoïdales (38, 40) présentent une largeur axiale diminuant radialement sur la périphérie dudit rotor femelle (16).
