An oil boom has a longitudinal hose-shaped floating body (10) of cloth or fabric material, and a skirt (11), also of cloth or fabric material, extending from the floating body and equipped with sinkers (13). The floating body has internal inflatable hoses (16) serving as distension elements. The inflatable hoses are fixed to the floating body and extend in the inflated state substantially in the circumferential direction of the floating body to distend it into hose shape. According to the invention, the inflatable hoses (16) have a sealing layer (20) of elastomeric material and a reinforcing structure (21-25) including a tensile-stress-absorbing inner reinforcing layer (21) and a hose-expansion-limiting outer reinforcing layer (22, 23; 25). The inner reinforcing layer is formed of substantially parallel reinforcing threads extending in the longitudinal direction of the hose. The outer reinforcing layer includes two sets of reinforcing threads extending helically in opposite directions at an obtuse angle to each other around the hose. Inflatable hoses of this design for distending and stabilising the floating body of an oil boom are also disclosed.
Barrage flottant possédant un corps flottant longitudinal en forme de tuyau souple (10) fabriqué de toile ou de tissu, et une jupe (11), également en toile ou en tissu, qui prolonge le corps flottant et est munie de crapauds d'amarrage (13). Le corps flottant comporte des tuyaux intérieurs gonflables (16) qui servent d'éléments d'accroissement du volume. Les tuyaux gonflables sont fixés au corps flottant et se prolongent, lorsqu'ils sont gonflés, essentiellement vers la circonférence du corps flottant pour l'étirer en lui donnant la forme d'un tuyau souple. Les tuyaux gonflables (16) de l'invention possèdent une couche d'étanchéité (20) en élastomère et une structure de renfort (21 à 25) comprenant une couche de renfort intérieure absorbant la contrainte de traction (21) et une couche de renfort extérieure limitant l'expansion du tuyau (22, 23, 25). La couche de renfort intérieure est constituée de fils de renfort essentiellement parallèles qui s'étendent dans le sens longitudinal du tuyau. La couche de renfort extérieure comprend deux groupes de fils de renfort qui s'étendent de manière hélicoïdale dans des directions opposées selon un angle obtus les uns par rapport aux autres autour du tuyau. Sont également décrits des tuyaux gonflables conçus pour augmenter le volume du corps flottant et stabiliser le corps flottant d'un barrage de rétention du pétrole répandu.
