The invention proposes an apparatus for absorbing floatable liquids such as oil, gasoline or the like, in particular in the case of oil-contaminated or gasoline-contaminated Water surfaces. Such an oil-extraction station (1) comprises a cylindrical oil-collecting container (2) and a float (8) resting on the water surface. The float (8) interacts with a parabolic intake trough (10), these forming a defined inflow gap, into the interior of the collecting container (2), for the liquid which is to be collected.
