A B S T R A C T An oil filtering apparatus for filtering particles of food from oil in a fryer is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a filtering chamber that is located in the oil in the fryer and at least a main filter positioned in the filtering chamber for filtering fine food particles from the oil. The apparatus also comprises a pump for circulating oil from the fryer through the main filter and back into the fryer.
