OIL PRESSURE SHOCK ABSORBER Abstract of the Disclosure: An oil pressure shock absorber has an inner cylinder with a free piston slidable within it. A free end of the inner cylinder is slidable inside an outer cylinder, an oil seal being provided between their sliding contact surfaces. A plurality of axially arranged orifices is formed in a side wall of the free end of the inner cylinder inside the outer cylinder. An annular groove is formed in the inside surface of the outer cylinder aligned with these orifices. Axial grooves are located on the outside surface of the free end of the inner cylinder. This end of the inner cylinder and the interior of the outer cylinder are filled with oil, and the remainder of the inner cylinder (on the other side of the free piston) is filled with pressure gas. By means of this structure collision energy can be uniformly absorbed over the full range of the sliding stroke of the cylinders,
