A 517 (R) Abstract of the Disclosure The invention relates to a process for removing impurities from triglyceride oils in which before the removal is effected the level of hydratable phosphatide is increased. The phosphatide together with the impuri- ties can be removed from the oil by any suitable degumming process. Impurities which are removed by the process of the invention include iron, non-hydratable phosphatides, waxes, sterolglucosides, etc.
