ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The recovery of oil from a subterranean hydrocarbon-bearing reservoir by the injection thereinto of a mixture of carbon diox- ide and sulfur dioxide which forms with the reservoir oil a zone wherein the mixture of carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide are mis- cible at pressure and temperature prevailing in the reservoir. For production a driving fluid is then injected to displace the zone and reservoir oil and fluids for recovery.
