A liquid containing reservoir and more particularly a furnace oil reservoir is comprised of an enclosed metal casing which defines a circumferential wall and opposed end walls secured together. An outlet port is provided at a bottom end of the casing. An inlet port is provided in an upper end of the casing for receiving the furnace oil. A circular ring member is welded about the inlet port. Joints are formed on an inner surface of the casing at junctures of the circumferential wall and end walls and at least about the ring member. A protective coating of non-corrosive material is disposed over the inner surface of the casing and the joints.
