ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Oil resistant modified organopolysiloxane composi- tions are prepared by first polymerizing an acrylic ester and an acrylic nitrile in the presence of an organopolysil- oxane and a free-radical initiator at an elevated tempera- ture and then by thermally cyclizing them. This two step process imparts improved oil resistance to these oil resis- tant compositions. The resultant compositions may be cured to form oil resistant silicone elastomers. Such elastomers are suitable as sealants and gaskets and the cured composi- tions are suitable for hydraulic fluids, and lubricants.
