OIL SEPARATOR Abstract of the Invention An oil separator for an oil-sealed vacuum pump comprises a separator housing containing a pool of oil-water emulsion. A separator inlet extends from the vacuum pump and into the separator housing. A baffle is spaced above the separator inlet in the housing to intercept flow from the inlet and to direct the liquid portion of the flow toward the pool and allow the gas portion of the flow to travel toward a gas outlet. The housing includes structure for inhibiting corrosion of the interior surfaces of the separator housing to allow the pool to consistently demulsify.
