Oil-soluble dispersant additives are disclosed. The additives comprise the reaction product of a functionalized 1-butene copolymer and at least one nucleophilic reactant selected from amines, amino alcohols, alcohols, and reactive metal compounds. The functionalized copolymer has within its structure at least one acyl functional group selected from the group consisting of C4 to C10 dicarboxylic acids and derivatives thereof and C3 to C10 monocarboxylic acids and derivatives thereof. The 1-butene copolymer is derived from 1-butene and at least one other .alpha.-olefin of the formula CH2=CHR', wherein R' is methyl or a C3 to C12 linear or branched alkyl group. The copolymer has a number average molecular weight of at least about 700, a molecular weight distribution of less than 5, and ethenylidene groups terminating at least about 30 % of all polymer chains. The dispersant additives are useful in oleaginous compositions including lubricating oil compositions and concentrates and fuel compositions.
L'invention concerne des additifs dispersants solubles dans l'huile, comprenant le produit de la réaction d'un butène-1 fonctionnalisé et d'au moins un réactif nucléophile sélectionné parmi les amines, aminoalcools, alcools et composés métalliques réactifs. Le copolymère fonctionnalisé présente dans sa structure au moins un groupe fonctionnel acyle sélectionné parmi le groupe comprenant les acides dicarboxyliques renfermant 4 à 10 atomes de carbone et leur dérivés ainsi que les acides monocarboxyliques renfermant 3 à 10 atomes de carbone. Le copolymère de butène-1 est dérivé du butène-1 et d'au moins une autre .alpha.-oléfine de formule CH¿2?=CHR', où R' représente méthyle ou un groupe alkyle linéaire ou ramifié renfermant 3 à 12 atomes de carbone. Ce copolymère présente un poids moléculaire moyen en nombre d'au moins 700 environ, une répartition des poids moléculaires inférieure à 5, et des groupes éthénylidène terminant au moins 30 % environ de toutes les chaînes de polymères. Ces additifs dispersants sont utilisés dans les compositions oléagineuses comprenant des compositions et des concentrés d'huile lubrifiante, et des compositions de carburant.
