The invention relates to a liquid spray bottle with manual air pump for spraying an aerosol mist of cooking oil, salad dressing or other liquids. The bottle has a removable base that enables the user to: clean the tubular bottle interior with conventional dishwashing equipment; and to place whole spices and whole garlic cloves within the bottle to infuse flavours into the liquids to be sprayed. The removable base also serves as a "sacrificial" means to prevent shattering of the internally pressurised bottle when internal pressure is excessively high or when the bottle is accidentally dropped. The removable base with sealing gasket will leak liquid rather than allow internal pressure to exceed the capacity of the bottle. The base will also shatter and leak thereby absorbing impact rather than permitting the bottle to explode. A removable base also eliminates the stability problem caused when the bottom of a blow moulded bottle bulges under pressure since the separate base can be manufactured with any thickness required to maintain a flat configuration independent of the tubular bottle body.
