FORM 24 ABSTRACT Some utensils have been developped and used to drain liquids off canned food from their original container. A common and simple canned food drainer is known to be a perforated plate, a grille or grid, either fitting in the opening of a can or held in position (by locking or not) on the rim of the opened end of the can. This invention consist of two plates, one on top of the other, sized to fit in the aperture of the can and joined together by a number of spacers. The top plate may have at least one notch on one side or end and the bottom plate is perforated. The device may be used to compress the food still in the can thus allowing the liquid to flow between the plates and be poured out of the can by passing trough the notch. The operation of draining a can of food may be, by using this invention, cleaner, faster and more efficacious than using common drainers.
