ABSTRACT A method of treating non-potable water bodies and a composition for the treatment of such bodies is disclosed. The composition comprises, in solid form, of a water- soluble antibacterial in the range 70 - 90% by weight and a carrier comprising a surfactant or wetting agent in the range 2 to 10% by weight having a density of at least 1.2 gm/cm3. An effervescent couple may be added if desired to chemically agitate the aqueous medium.
