ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process is described for providing methods for augmenting of enhancing the aroma or taste of consumable materials which is in the alternative a perfume composition, a perfumed article, a cologne, a foodstuff, a chewing gum, a toothpaste, a medicinal product, a chewing tobacco, a smoking tobacco composition or a smoking tobacco article comprising the step of adding to either of a perfume composition, a perfumed article base, a cologne base, a foodstuff, a chewing gum, a toothpaste, a chewing tobacco base, a medicinal product base, a smoking tobacco composition or a smoking tobacco article component, one or more diolefin compounds or derivatives thereof which are in the alternative, diisoamylene compounds or diisobutylene compounds or derivatives thereof in an organoleptic property modifying, augmenting or enhancing quantity, with the diolefin compounds or derivatives thereof being either: a. one or more diisoamylenes; b. one or more diisoamylene epoxides; c. one or more acylated diisoamylenes; d. one or more alcohol moiety-containing reduction. products of one or more acylated diisoamylenes. e. one or more ketal or thioketal derivatives of one or more acylated diisoamylenes; f. one or more oxo reaction products of one or more diisoamylenes; g. one or more alkyl metallo derivatives of one or more acylated diisoamylenes; h. one or more hydrolysis products of one or more alkyl metallo derivatives of one or more acylatec derivatives of one or more diisoamylenes; j. one or more acylated diisobutylenes.
