F-4363(4715) OLEFIN OLIGOMERIZATION ABSTRACT A process for oligomerizing an olefin feedstock comprises the step of contacting the feedstock with ZSM-23 which is surface deactivated with a trialkyl pyridine compound having an effective cross-section larger than that of the pores of ZSM-23. The resultant, substantially linear olefinic product is useful in the production of high viscosity index lubricating oils and biodegradable alkylbenzene sulfonates.
