A catalyst for olefin polymerization which is highly active in olefin polymerization and with which a polyolefin having excellent properties can be produced; and a method of polymerizing an olefin using the catalyst. The catalyst comprises (A) a transition metal imine compound represented by general formula shown in the figure and (B) at least one compound selected among (B-1) an organometallic compound, (B-2) an organoaluminumoxy compound, and (B-3) a compound which reacts with the compound (A) to form an ion pair.
L'invention concerne un catalyseur hautement actif dans la polymérisation d'une oléfine, permettant de polymériser une oléfine et de produire une polyoléfine présentant d'excellentes propriétés, et un procédé de polymérisation d'une oléfine au moyen dudit catalyseur. Le catalyseur comprend (A) un composé imine de métal de transition représenté par la formule indiquée dans la figure, et (B) au moins un composé choisi entre (B-1) un composé organométallique, (B-2) un composé organoaluminumoxy, et (B-3) un composé qui réagit avec le composé (A) pour former une paire d'ions.
