The present invention relates to a process for olefin polymerization, in particular for the preparation of ethylene or propylene homo or copolymers, which process comprises at least two polymerization stages, a relatively earlier of said stages comprising polymerizing an a-olefin in the presence of hydrogen and an .eta.-liganded olefin polymerization catalyst whereby to produce a first polymerization product, and a relatively later of said stages comprising polymerizing said .alpha.- olefin in the presence of an olefin polymerization catalyst whereby to yield a polymerization product having a lower MFR2 than said first polymerization product. The present invention further relates to the olefin polymer products of such a process.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de polymérisation d'oléfine, en particulier pour la préparation d'homopolymères ou de copolymères d'éthylène ou de propylène. Le procédé comprend au moins deux étapes de polymérisation. L'une, relativement précoce, consiste à polymériser une alpha -oléfine en présence d'hydrogène et d'un catalyseur de polymérisation d'oléfine à ligand eta en vue d'obtenir un premier produit de polymérisation. L'autre étape, relativement tardive, consiste à polymériser ladite alpha-oléfine en présence d'un catalyseur de polymérisation d'oléfine pour obtenir un produit de polymérisation présentant une viscosité à l'état fondu (MFR2) plus faible que celle dudit premier produit de polymérisation. L'invention concerne en outre les produits de polymérisation obtenus par ledit procédé.
