Disclosed is a process for producing an olefin stream. The olefin stream is produced by dehydrogenating a C2-C10 alkane feed stream with a coked catalytic cracking catalyst. Preferably, the coked catalytic cracking catalyst has a carbon content of about 0.2-10 wt. %. The catalyst preferably comprises a crystalline tetrahedral framework oxide component.
