ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is a method of making and an oleic acid ester of the formula: RO - ? - (CH2)7 CH = CH (CH2)7 CH3 I wherein R represents the residue of a hydroxy group containing neuroleptic selected from phenothiazines, thioxanthenes and butyrophenones, as well as pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof. The method for the preparation of oleic acid esters of such formula includes treating the hydroxy group containing neuroleptic with oleic acid under conditions well known in the art for the preparation of peptides, or alternatively treating the such neuroleptic with a reactive derivative of oleic acid, and isolating the oleic acid ester of Formula I in the form of the free base or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
