Compositions and methods are provided for the treatment and diagnosis of diseases associated with protein kinase C. Oligonucleotides are provided which are specifically hybridizable with a PKC gene or mRNA. Oligonucleotides specifically hybridizable with a particular PKC isozyme, set of isozymes or mRNA transcript are provided. Methods of treating conditions amenable to therapeutic intervention by modulating protein kinase C expression with an oligonucleotide specifically hybridizable with a PKC gene or mRNA are disclosed. Compositions and methods are provided for the treatment, detection and diagnosis of diseases associated with protein kinase Calpha and specific transcripts thereof. New nucleic acid sequences are provided which encode 3' untranslated regions of human protein kinase Calpha. Polynucleotide probes for PKCalpha are also disclosed.
L'invention concerne des compositions et des procédés destinés au traitement et au diagnostic de maladies associées à la protéine kinase C ainsi que des oligonucléotides spécifiquement hybridables avec un gène PKC ou l'ARNm. L'invention porte également sur des oligonucléotides spécifiquement hybridables avec un isoenzyme de PKC particulier, un ensemble d'isoenzymes ou un produit de transcription d'ARNm. Des procédés de traitement d'affections nécessitant une intervention thérapeutique par modulation de l'expression de la protéine kinase C avec un oligonucléotide spécifiquement hybridable avec un gène PKC ou l'ARNm sont décrits. L'invention se rapporte aussi à des compositions et des procédés destinés au traitement, à la détection et au diagnostic de maladies associées à la protéine kinase C alpha et à des produits de transcription spécifiques de celle-ci. Des nouvelles séquences d'acides nucléiques codant les régions non traduites 3' de la protéine kinase C alpha humaine sont décries ainsi que des sondes polynucléotidiques pour le PKC alpha .
