ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a process for preparing oligophos- phonic or oligophosphinic acids or esters or salts thereof which comprises reacting an alkali metal ester of phosphorous acid or an alkali metal ester of arylphosphonous or alkylphos- phonous acid with an olefin polyhalide and, optionally, saponify- ing the resultant product.
