ABSTRACT An on-heart display system for use with a cardiac mapping system for displaying electrical activity on the surface of a heart. The on-heart display system comprises an electrode sock adapted to substantially envelop the heart, an array of electrodes disposed on the sock for detecting electrophysiological impulses on the surface of the heart, a data processing computer connected to the array of electrodes for detecting activation times of the electrodes responsive to the electrophysiological impulses, an electronic module for receiving and storing the activation times detected by the data processing computer, a plurality of visual display devices mounted to the sock and connected to the electronic module for displaying the electrophysiological impulses on the surface of the heart, and a remote control device for user activation of the visual display.
