The present invention concerns a tire having a tread wherein a first shoulder region comprises a plurality of shoulder blocks (71,72) that are circumferentially separated by shoulder transverse grooves (73,74). A central region (5)comprises a plurality of substantially transverse grooves (6) extending from a first circumferential groove (31) towards the equatorial plane(X-X), wherein two circumferentially consecutive substantially transverse grooves (6) delimit a central area (5). The central area (5) comprises: a first central block (51); a second central block (52) having one side (52f) forming a part of said wall (30) of the first circumferential groove (31); and a third central block (53), circumferentially shifted with respect to the first central block (51) and positioned at a distance from the first circumferential groove (31), the third central block (53) being separated from the second central block (52) by a central transverse groove (55) which is inclined with respect to the equatorial plane (X-X). The substantially transverse (55) grooves have respective end portions (62) at a distance from the equatorial plane (X-X).
