ABSTRACT This invention comprehends a spin casting style fishing reel that has an actuator switch that pro- vides the selective OFF/ON selection for the anti-reverse cranking mechanism. The crank shaft is coupled to the reel crank handle and can be rotated in both the forward and reverse directions at will. However, when the fish- ing line is being reeled in, with or without a fish, it is advantageous for the reel can be cranked in only the forward direction. The actuator activates or deacti- vates the anti-reverse crank mechanism by simply moving to the desired position.
